🚴♂️ Are naked bike rides overrated?
July 27, 2026 · — Giulia Fiaoni
Good morning, Portland! This is my first season gardening in Portland, and watching my tomato plants thrive has been the most rewarding. Do you have any tips for a first-time gardener? Or proud pictures of your garden? I would love to hear from you.

What's CITY Talking About
County Delays Moda Center Vote
Multnomah County commissioners have postponed their vote on a proposed $88 million contribution to the Moda Center renovation after pushback from AFSCME Local 88. The union, which represents more than 4,000 county employees, objected to the use of $35 million in tax revenue generated from the Blazers' recent sale to fund the project. [Willamette Week]
- Meanwhile: Portland City Council President Jamie Dunphy says the city is in a better position after sharing a draft proposal for the Moda Center renovation, because it shows the city is negotiating in good faith. That’s despite the fact that Trail Blazers’ officials seemed to reject the proposal. [KGW]
Intel Begins Bouncing Back?
Despite recently announcing plans for another round of layoffs, Intel reported $16.1 billion in second-quarter revenue — an increase of 25% over the same period last year. Intel has struggled after missing the initial AI chip boom, but some analysts say demand is now beginning to spill over to the traditional chips that are Intel's bread-and-butter. The Portland house where author Ursula K. Le Guin wrote many of her best-known works has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The home, donated to Literary Arts after Le Guin's 2018 death, is being converted into a literary residency. [Oregonian]
