June 16, 2026 · — Rachel Monahan

Good morning, Portland! 🥵 Amid record-breaking heat, the Oregonian shared some tips on water safety — including a reminder to wear your life jacket when boating or paddling as well as to know the water conditions wherever you’re going: Icy cold water temperatures, even in the heat, can be dangerous. So can branches and fallen trees, especially in rivers and streams with a strong current.

There were at least three drownings over the weekend, including the city administrator for St. Helens, Ore.

The Sports Bra Is Losing Money

The Sports Bra, the first-of-its-kind women’s-sports bar, has been looking for crowdfunding as it expands its franchise. 🍅 A unique CSA: Copihue Farm appears to be the only local farm offering a tomato-only CSA — the Portland Mercury reports. Named for Chile’s national flower (also known as the Chilean bellflower), the farm offers two dozen varieties of tomatoes, many of them from Chile. Half shares cost $140 (plus credit card fees) for about four pounds of tomatoes a week during August and September.

Tip: The farm also sells tomatoes during peak season at the Woodstock Farmers Market on Sundays
