Old Town Shoe Dream Stumbles

The Made in Old Town footwear manufacturing project has fallen into material default on its $7 million loan from Prosper Portland after it failed to raise an additional $5.7 million in private funds, as required by the loan terms. Here’s a feel-good story to send us into the holiday: A young seal was wandering on the side of the road in Newport over the weekend and fortunately deputies were able to rescue it with the help of a “leash.”

And with that, I want to share one more wave of gratitude on behalf of the City Cast Portland team. Thank you for supporting our work and sharing this weird little city we love so much. Have a safe and lovely holiday and we will see you again on Monday.
