Lawsuit Over Transgender Athlete Protest Dropped
Three former high school athletes have dropped their lawsuit over First Amendment violations. Alexa Anderson and Reese Eckard finished third and fourth at the Class 6A high jump event at the 2025 Oregon track and field state championships. A transgender athlete finished fifth, but the winning athletes were told not to wear their t-shirts (which protested the transgender athleteās inclusion) while on the podium. A separate federal lawsuit is seeking to change state policy to ban transgender athletes. [Oregonian]
