🏭 Environmental Advocates’ Lawsuit Gets A Win
A lawsuit against the city over its permitting process for Zenith Energy, which operates a controversial fuel transportation and storage facility in NW Portland, will head back to the state's Land Use Board of Appeals, following a higher court ruling. The advocates say the ruling is a win because the board has a better understanding of state land use laws. [Portland Mercury]
🪧 New Seasons Employees Consider Strike
The labor union representing Portland-area New Seasons employees is preparing almost 700 workers to strike if contract negotiations aren’t agreed to by Dec. 4. The union has been negotiating its first contract since 2023, but continues to have disputes with the grocery chain over wages, health insurance, and paid time off. [KGW]
🏛️ Trump Fights To Bring National Guard To Town
On Sunday night, the Trump administration filed an emergency appeal of a district court judge’s decision to block the government from sending National Guard troops from any state to Oregon.
