Good morning, Portland! An environmental group is planning to sue the Trump administration to try to save the endangered Crater Lake newts 💙 Their predators (invasive crawfish) also threaten to decimate the native invertebrates that consume plankton and keep the lake a crystal blue.

Feds Clear Fagan
Federal investigators have closed their case against former Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan without filing charges. Fagan, who had a $10,000-a-month contract with a cannabis company while in office, now faces a state ethics investigation. [Oregonian]
2 Student Visa Cases in Court
Two Oregon international students have won a temporary reprieve after the Trump administration revoked their visas without a clear explanation. The judge criticized the lack of due process and blocked the government from deporting either student. [Oregonian 🔒]
