🖌️ ‘GIMER’ Graffiti Tagger Captured
Portland police say they’ve arrested James S. Fischell, an alleged graffiti tagger responsible for “GIMER” tags across Portland. Fischell had evaded authorities since a raid of his home in June of 2024, where police said they found $10,000 worth of spray paint and supplies. [Oregonian]

📚 Is Oregon Overlooking School Librarians?
Despite increased state funding for education, some literacy advocates say certified librarians are being left out of important policy conversations, warning of a disconnect between policy priorities and student needs. Oregon ranks near the bottom nationally for certified librarians in schools, with many districts favoring library assistants over certified librarians. [Willamette Week]
U.S. Rep. Maxine Dexter Sets Vision for Congress
The critical care physician and former Oregon state representative was sworn in as the U.S. representative for Oregon’s 3rd Congressional District last week, where she said she plans to advocate for health care reform, environmental sustainability, and veterans’ affairs.
