Overdoses Rose Again Last Year
In 2023, the state’s overdose deaths increased by 33%, according to final figures released last week. “Three times as many people died of overdoses in Oregon last year than did four years earlier,” the Oregonian reports. [Oregonian]
Down in Bike-Friendliness Rankings
Though still near the top, Oregon fell in the official rankings of the most bike-friendly states. Oregon is now third, down from second, after 30 cyclists died during the two years included in the League of American Bicyclists rankings. [Willamette Week]
