♻️ Oregon Puts Packaging Costs on Businesses

The state is set to launch the country’s first recycling program funded by companies’ waste next year, requiring businesses with global revenues over $5 million — both local and out-of-state — to pay fees based on the environmental impact of their packaging. The program is part of the Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act that passed in 2021 and is expecting full implementation by 2028. [OPB]

Utah-based Powdr Corp. is selling Mt.
