🏛️ Democrats Win State House Supermajority

Lesly Muñoz’s narrow victory over incumbent Republican state Rep.Tracy Cramer in Oregon House District 22 secures Democratic control of both state legislative branches. The margin of victory was a mere 161 votes. [Oregonian]

💼 Intel Hits Ctrl+Alt+Del on CEO

Pat Gelsinger resigned abruptly after the company’s board of directors lost confidence in his turnaround strategy. The computer chip manufacturer, which has a large presence in Oregon, has struggled to regain market share from its main competitor Nvidia. The board reportedly gave Gelsinger a choice to quit or be fired. [Bloomberg 🔒]

🧑‍⚖️ Portland Ponders Legal Action Against Worker Union

City Council is considering filing a formal complaint against the union that represents more than 1,000 municipal employees for allegedly violating their contract by holding two pickets this year. AFSCME is currently in negotiations with the city ahead of planned budget cuts next year. Portland City Council will vote on whether to file the complaint tomorrow. [KOIN]
