Gonzalez Violated Law With Wiki Editing

Portland City Commissioner Rene Gonzalez had his city staff edit his Wikipedia entry to include that he was a Democrat. That means, according to the city auditor’s findings, that he violated campaign finance laws by using city funds on the editing, given that it served a political purpose. A previous investigation ended with insufficient evidence. [KOIN]

Governor Criticized 3 City Commissioners

Last week, three Portland city commissioners announced they plan to break off the city’s participation in the Joint Office of Homeless Services. But now they’re under fire with Gov. Tina Kotek calling it “obstructionist infighting.” Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson called it an election season “stunt.” [Willamette Week]
