Inflation Slams Portland Small Businesses
Small businesses in the Portland metro area report they’re struggling more than elsewhere: With the vast majority citing inflation, 43% say they’re losing money versus about 35% nationally, according to a Federal Reserve survey. But a higher percentage in Portland also report they’re optimistic about expecting an increase in revenue. [Oregonian 🔒]
Dozens of Patients Come To Die
Oregon and Vermont are the only states in the country that allow out-of-state patients with terminal conditions to receive medical assistance in ending their lives. Last year, 23 out-of-state patients ended their life in Oregon; in Vermont, 26 did. Nine states and the District of Columbia allow residents to get medical help in dying. Oregon Suing Over Inflated Rents
Oregon has joined the federal government and seven other states in suing the real estate company RealPage over its efforts to artificially inflate rent. The antitrust lawsuit alleges the company was acting illegally in stifling competition and fixing prices. [KATU]
