Howdy! Brace yourself, we’re talking cute animals today: I’ve got fun facts about beavers and question if we’re ready to truly love them.

What's CITY Talking About?
🍫 Oregon’s First Legal Psilocybin Edibles
The state’s psilocybin program has issued its first license for psychedelic edibles to Milwaukie-based Spiritus Oregon. The edibles will be sold under the Horizon Edibles brand and are said to provide a more precise dose. The first psilocybin-infused chocolates will be available later this month, although don’t expect over-the-counter sales: current law requires all legal psilocybin be consumed under supervision at a licensed service center. 🤝 VP Candidate Tim Walz Has Ties to Oregon
Following the announcement of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as Kamala Harris’ running mate, former Oregon Gov. Kate Brown described Walz as “folksy” and a breath of fresh air, highlighting their work together on voter access and national security. Walz has also worked alongside Gov. Tina Kotek, though she declined to comment on their relationship. [OPB]

Portland City Commissioner and mayoral candidate Rene Gonzalez spent $6,400 in taxpayer funds to enhance his Wikipedia profile. According to records obtained by The Oregonian, Gonzalez paid a New York firm to request eight edits to the commissioner's page, including an addition of his law degree and his work on anti-drug use legislation.
