More Fires Than California

Oregon this week had more wildfires burning than California — and nearly as many as Washington, Idaho, and California combined. One reason: The state was struck by lightning some 1,300 times during Sunday and Monday’s thunderstorms. [Oregonian]

Iconic Club for Drag Shows Is Struggling

Portland’s Darcelle XV Showplace announced they’re struggling to keep the doors open. The club’s eponymous star drag queen Darcelle XV died last year at age 92. The pandemic also impacted Old Town and attendance at the club. [KOIN]
