Help redesign the Burnside Bridge

July 3, 2024 · — Rachel Monahan

Hello! Happy Fourth of July almost! Want to go swim in the river (today), watch a drone or fireworks show (tomorrow), or go to a blockbuster movie trivia night (this weekend)? ⬇️

What's CITY Talking About?

Traveling? Expect Crowds

More than 800,000 Oregonians are traveling at least 50 miles for the holiday — mostly by car. But PDX is already seeing crowds. [KGW]

Vote for the New Burnside Bridge Design

Multnomah County released design ideas for a new Burnside Bridge and is asking the public for help picking the best one. The county is replacing the bridge to make it safer in an earthquake. [KOIN]

Portland Is Aging

The number of Portland seniors (age of 65 and up) rose just over 10%, between April 2020 and July 2023. The number of Portland children under 15 fell 7.5% and the working age population fell 0.6%. Many seniors are going to need help, particularly with housing. [Oregonian 🔒]
