3 Oregon Measles Cases

There are two confirmed cases of measles in Clackamas County (both in unvaccinated people from the same household) and another in Marion County. The highly contagious disease was officially eradicated in the United States in 2000, but it’s made a comeback. A 2019 outbreak in the Pacific Northwest totaled more than 70 cases. [KOIN]

No Pride Collection From Nike

Last year, Nike partnered with a transgender influencer in a marketing campaign only to face calls for a boycott. This year, for the first time since 1999, the company is among the brands that didn’t issue a Pride-themed collection. Adidas, Converse, and Levi’s, in contrast, continued to issue Pride collections. Nurses at Providence hospitals across Oregon walked off the job Tuesday for a three-day strike after months of failed contract negotiations. The hospital has hired 1,000 replacement workers and won’t negotiate further until the strike is over. [OPB]
