Writers To Work at Ursula K. Le Guin’s Home

The Northwest Portland home of the late, great writer Ursula K. Le Guin is going to host writing fellowships. Her family has donated Le Guin’s home to the nonprofit Literary Arts, which will begin fundraising to bring writers from around the world to Portland. [Associated Press via OPB]

Plastics Recycling Is “Largely Futile”

The Center for Climate Integrity analyzed plastics recycling and determined that “it’s largely futile,” Portland Monthly reports. There are exceptions, including a program to recycle clamshell-type containers at the grocery store New Seasons. [Portland Monthly]

3 Local Sushi Restaurants in Yelp’s Top 100

Bluefin Tuna & Sushi (No. 75, in Portland), Koya Sushi (No. 24, in Beaverton), and Yoshi’s Sushi (No. 7, a food cart in Portland) were among the 100 best sushi restaurants in the United States, according to Yelp. The company analyzes Yelp ratings to determine rankings. [KOIN]
