Objections to Tents and Syringe Funding

Portland City Commissioner Rene Gonzalez is objecting to Multnomah County’s plans to fund purchases of tents, tarps, and syringes as part of Joint Office of Homeless Services’ next budget. As commissioner in charge of the city’s fire bureau, Gonzalez cited the fire hazard at tent encampments. [Willamette Week]
