Revived Bill to End Daylight Saving Time

Oregon state senators have revived a bill that would eliminate daylight saving time and keep standard time year round. They made a key change to the bill to ensure more support: Oregon will stop changing the clocks only if California and Washington also agree. The Senate reached a rare 15-to-15 deadlock over the previous version of the bill, and now may have the votes to pass it. [Oregonian 🔒]

Apprehending Graffiti Taggers

Fewer than 100 taggers are responsible for most of the city’s graffiti — say the two Portland police officers who are assigned to the graffiti patrol. The pair have successfully apprehended some of the most prolific offenders: “Once you start looking, it’s like the weirdest version of ‘Where’s Waldo?’ you can imagine,” says one officer. Mass Layoffs at Wieden + Kennedy
