Portland Public Schools and the Portland Association of Teachers have not yet come to a deal on teacher pay or planning time, but officials on both sides expressed optimism on progress made over the weekend. Intel’s Rebound

World-Famous Jazz Club Closes

The 1905, recognized as one of the world’s best jazz clubs, closed last month. A GoFundMe in July raised $65,000, but critics say owner Aaron Barnes failed to accept much-needed help managing the club’s finances.
