What's CITY Talking About?

Portland Almost Country’s Best Coffee

Top coffee-city honors went to San Francisco in a ranking by the group WalletHub, but we beat out Seattle to be the second-best coffee city in the country. Portland is No. 1 for most coffee and tea manufacturers per capita. [KOIN]

$2.7M Loss for Multnomah County

Gov. Tina Kotek has decided to pull $2.7 million of the $18.2 million she sent to Multnomah County earlier this year to address homelessness. She’s previously expressed dissatisfaction with the way Multnomah County is spending homelessness dollars, but this time simply said the funding would be better spent elsewhere, specifically in Clackamas, Marion, Polk, Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook counties. Gov. Kotek Left Portland Full-Time

Gov. Tina Kotek and her wife sold their North Portland home where they’ve lived for 18 years and moved full-time to Mahonia Hall, the Oregon governor’s mansion. That’s unlike the last two governors, who kept their Portland homes while in office. [Oregonian]
