Right-Wing Writer Sues for $900K
The right-wing writer Andy Ngo has fled Portland for England. He’s also suing two left-wing activists for $900,000, alleging they incited an assault against him and inflicted emotional harm. [Oregonian]
Oregonian Stops Daily Print Run
The Oregonian will stop publishing its print editions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in January. That means Portland will no longer have a daily newspaper. [Willamette Week]
Urban Camping Continues on Springwater
As the city sweeps camps downtown, neighbors of Southeast Portland’s Springwater Corridor Trail say that only means more urban camping ends up along the trail. KGW reports that “in the last six months, the city has cleared 65 campsites along the trail.” [KGW]

The Paddler’s Guide to Exploring the Willamette
Today we’re talking with Noa Rubin, a community organizer for the paddle boarding group SUP PDX. Noa has also been kayaking and paddling on the Willamette for over 13 years. She’s here to share tips for the best routes and how to stay safe out on the river.
Don't be afraid to fall into the water! If you're a kayaker, practice falling in and getting back into a kayak. If you're a paddle boarder, honestly, part of the fun is falling in.
