Get to Know Portland Pie Spots

Portland, I know you love your pies. And Thursday is peak pie for the year, except, of course, for basically all summer long.

Plenty of you are making your own; that’s wonderful. And many of you may have planned ahead.

But even though the best pie spots around seem to have all stopped taking advance reservations for your Thanksgiving dessert, don’t abandon hope.

There are still options. Also, this serves as a list of must-eats for the coming weeks and months:

Lauretta Jean's will be open on Thanksgiving morning for walk-up orders of pie. (@laurettajeans)

Lauretta Jean’s. No reservations left. But they’ll have whole pies (no slices), first come, first served today (opens at 9 a.m.) and tomorrow (opens at 8 a.m.). They’ll also have their pastries, brownies, and cookies too if you’re too late for pie. [Richmond]

Bipartisan Cafe.
They promise they’ll have quite a few pies left. Call in advance today to reserve your favorite. Opens at 7 a.m. [Montavilla]

Pie Spot.
It’s open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (today), but the sooner you get to the shop, the more likely you are to secure your choice of a whole pie. [Kerns, Montavilla]

Banning Restaurant.
Advance reservations are gone. But there should be pies available for you if you swing by early in the day. Opens at 7 a.m. today. [Tigard]

Petunia’s Pies. They’re sold out of full pies at their shop in Southwest, but New Seasons carries their pumpkin pie. [Your closest New Seasons]
