To start your week off with a tasty start, here’s a few quick bites of news you can use for figuring out your next meal out:

Noteworthy Restaurants and Bars

These spots have gotten some well-deserved attention from local food reviewers:

Dry-aging fish for sushi is still pretty uncommon in Portland. But think of how dry aging can bring out distinctive flavors in a steak. Now the city has the state’s first official retail shop with dry-aged fish; it opened as a pop-up, which also serves lunch. [Portland Mercury]

It’s part of the Oregonian’s ongoing series on the coziest spots. The Scout Wine Bar in Gresham feels like visiting a Victorian-era living room, complete with bookshelves to browse while you’re there. [Oregonian]

🥇Southeast Portland’s Best Restaurants

The Oregonian has also updated its list of the 21 best restaurants in Southeast Portland. They include Jeju, Kachka, Kann, and Nong’s Khao Man Gai. [Oregonian 🔒]

Coming Soon: Cafe From Vietnam

Trung Nguyên Legend Cafe is Vietnam's most popular coffee shop with more than 100 locations. It’s set to open its second U.S. location in Portland — by this summer. Vietnamese coffee has become a popular Portland option with Phin Caphe & Boba, Cafe Ume, and Gạch Viet Teahouse. [Eater Portland]

🥟 Closing: XLB

XLB, which Willamette Week calls the city’s “first serious soup dumpling restaurant,” is closing its doors on April 20 — after eight years making xiao long bao and other tasty dumplings. [Willamette Week]
