Today there’s some news about local drinks:

Drinks With No Alcohol

The “sober curious” movement has taken hold in the Pacific Northwest. And Oregon brewers and distillers are making their mark. There’s a booze-free beer called Heck, thanks to Andy McMillan (founder of the now-shuttered nonalcoholic bar Suckerpunch) and Hopworks Brewery alum Justin Miller. There’s also Hood River’s Wilderton, which makes botanical spirits and opened the first nonalcoholic distillery and tasting room in the U.S. [OPB]

Beers for Farms

For the second year, breweries and cideries from around the state are releasing a new brew on Oct. 10 to raise money to protect Oregon farmland. The list of businesses that are participating has grown to 18, from 9 last year. The funds will go to the nonprofit Oregon Agricultural Trust, which is working to protect 139,000 acres of Oregon farmland. Among the Portland companies participating are Level Beer and

Stumptown Moving, Travel-Themed Cafe Moves In

The coffee shop Stumptown is moving out of the Ace Hotel to a new location nearby. The iconic Ace Hotel will have five vacancies, but a new cafe is moving in and will feature tastes from around the world. [Oregonian]
