This week there’s a chance for free coffee and ramen — along with other delicious options:

💰 Free Giveaways and Openings

Two new restaurants will open in the North Mississippi area this week — and have some freebies for the first customers:

Tuesday (April 22): Cafe Rosetta | 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. daily | 912 N Fremont Street

The new coffee shop will offer free coffee to the first 50 customers. Their menu will have focaccia sandwiches, salad, soups, and breakfast options — all for under $10.

Thursday (April 24): Matsunoki Ramen | 11:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily | 906 N Fremont Street

The new location will give out free bowls of ramen to its first 50 customers. Maybe you know them already from their Pine Street Market location.

🍳 Portland Brunch Options Expand

I’ve featured a few new brunch spots recently, and now a favorite spot of mine is expanding its hours to include Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Xiao Ye will be open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on weekends starting in May, with dishes like cinnamon rolls and Taiwanese homestyle congee as well as Chinese sausage and cheddar biscuits.

🍴 More Tasty Updates

🍕 Nostrana chef Cathy Whims has her first cookbook out — as of last week. Whims has seven James Beard nominations to her name, and Portland Monthly calls her “the city’s fairy godmother of Italian cuisine.” [Portland Monthly]
