Check out what’s coming to the Portland food and drink scene:

Exciting New Restaurants in Former Woodsman Tavern

🇫🇷 James Beard Award-winning chef Naomi Pomeroy is working on a French bisto that could come as early as fall. Pomeroy was previously chef and owner at the now-closed Northeast Portland restaurant Beast. [Oregonian]

🍨 In the meantime, Pomeroy and her business partner plan to open a standalone shop next door — for her frozen custard line. Cornet Custard’s opening is set for June 14. [Oregonian]

🍕 Pizza Popup Turns Permanent

The popup Pan Con Queso, which opened a year ago, is yet one more example of Portland’s thriving pizza culture. It’s opening a permanent location in the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood on June 1. The pies, which are inspired by the owners’ Mexican and Pacific Islander heritage, will now come in a slightly larger size, but continue to include toppings like elote (a seasonal specialty), a chorizo con papas, and SPAM with pineapple. 🍸 A New Nonalcoholic Bar and Bottle Shop

There’s new excitement in Portland’s NA scene. Ever After, a new nonalcoholic bar and bottle shop, with an event space attached, is looking to open by year end. The owner, artist Ariel Dunitz-Johnson, says they’ll be crowdfunding to support the opening. [Eater Portland]

🌸 Dessert Night

Lan Su Chinese Garden is hosting Bu-Tai-Tian Dessert Nights, on June 14 and 15, featuring vendors from dim sum spot HK Cafe, bubble tea shop Yoonique Tea, BB Tea Jars, and O The Bake Shop, a Hawaiian bake shop. “Bu-tai-tian” is the ultimate Chinese compliment for dessert, meaning not too sweet.
