Here’s some seasonal (or season-appropriate) news for your taste buds and tummies:

Soup and Stew Season Is Here

Find your favorite version of the rainy season staples — soups and stews. I’ll take anything meaty from Eem and (also) the vegan curry udon from Obon Shokudo. You? [Portland Monthly]

Apple Season Is Here, Too

It’s the peak season for apples (not just pumpkin or PSL’s). Don’t miss out on these seasonal delights, including an apple spice whoopie pie from Mama Dút and this weekend’s 7th Annual Apple Juice Market at Reverend Nat's Hard Cider. [Portland Mercury]

Thanksgiving to Go

If you don’t want to cook, but want to dine on tasty treats cooked by some of your favorite restaurants, that’s definitely an option. I usually make the turkey, but a now shuttered restaurant in another city was certainly my favorite Thanksgiving meal ever. Maybe you’ll find yours? [Eater PDX]

Openings and New Locations: A Delight of New Options

I think I’d like to eat at every single one of these new Portland restaurants and bars. I particularly want to try Masala Lab PDX, which is the brick-and-mortar version of a successful Indian food cart, and Heavenly Creatures, a bar from the same people who created St. Jack. [Portland Eater]

From Gresham to the Reed Neighborhood

Tortilleria y Tienda De Leon, an acclaimed Mexican eatery, has completed the move this week from the burbs to SE Portland. There’s no grocery store, but they are ramping up their tamale production. Yum. [Portland Monthly]
