4 Portland Doughnut Shops Among Country’s 100 Best

Yelp ranked the country’s doughnut shops, and the Portland area had four of the tastiest: Pip’s Original Doughnuts & Chai (ranked 15th); Donut Day, in Aloha (ranked 73rd); vegan shop Doe Donuts (78th); and relatively new Mikiko Mochi Donuts (94th), which uses rice flour not tapioca. [Oregonian]

Pip’s Will Open in Beaverton

More Reader Picks of Best Doughnuts

When Pip’s didn’t make the newsletter list of reader favorites, fans made sure to write in with praise for the spot. Reader Christine Binnendyk wrote: “Gotta gotta gotta be Pip's donuts, particularly the Dirty Wu, named after the actor Reggie Lee who played Wu on the Portland-based TV show ‘Grimm.’” We also got a vote for Annie’s: “Annie’s Donuts are the BEST! It’s an old established shop with traditional fare and no pretentiousness or an ‘I’m so Portland foodie’ vibe.”
