Nachos can be a party food or a comfort food. But either way, who doesn’t want to know where to find the best ones around? Eater Portland editor Brooke Jackson-Glidden shared her list of favorites:

Non-Traditional, With Wonton Chips

They’re wonton chips, with a Thai-accented taste of lemongrass and beef. “Expatriate nachos rule! They're so good,” says Jackson-Glidden. “The flavor combinations are really wild.”

They may be the most unexpected nachos in town: ahi poke on top of wonton chips. “Their poke is really good. And it's huge. It's absolutely piled high. And then they put unagi sauce on it and seaweed flakes.”

More Traditional, With Corn Chips

“People who go —  they know this nacho, they love this nacho. This is a nacho that is generally beloved.”

The Zipper’s patio makes for good vibes, but go for the nachos. “It's got that bright orange molten cheese vibe, but it's the exact flavor I'm looking for. They really go to town on making sure that every chip has a little drizzle of something-something on it.”

Kay’s also makes the list because of its atmosphere. “The vibe in there feels very classic Portland bar to me.” The house cheese sauce, and the chips made in-house, make for great nachos.
